Menifee/Sun City Concern provides referrals to local services such
as caregivers, homemakers, craftsmen, handymen, tradesmen,
drivers, shopping services, and gardeners. Background checks
are required for all service providers that are used on our
registry. Information on area residential care facilities and
community services can also be provided.
This program provides one-on-one
assessment of needs for the at-risk older adult who requires
information/assistance and/or guidance of community
resources to help maintain their independence. This program
has two retired
nurses who go to homes of elderly and shut-in's to assist
them in finding agencies to meet their needs and keep them
safe at home. This program services over 30 clients a month
. This is to help seniors remain in their homes with
assistance.
Menifee/Sun City Concern hosts a wide variety of volunteer
opportunities for those who desire to help others in our
community. Volunteers are also involved in all of our
programs, as well as bingo, office assistance, and
fund-raising.
This program offers a friendly call, providing a sense of
security to those who sign up for this service. A designated
time is established with the client for the reassurance
call. A record of confidential emergency contacts is
requested from the client to maintain a line of
communication, should an emergency arise.
The Gatekeeper Program trains employees of local businesses,
banks, churches, post offices, service clubs, hospitals, and
others to recognize the signs of the at-risk older adult.
These trained employees will call Menifee/Sun City Concern to
establish a referral to the Outreach Program staff. Staff
will then contact the individual to assess their needs.
The Friendly Visitor Program offers a weekly visit by a
trained Menifee/Sun City Concern volunteer to a senior who may be
lonely or isolated and would benefit from a smiling face and
a friendly visit.
